General 1. What is FlashNative? FlashNative is a free online website builder. It is designed to give everyone the opportunity to create a simple website, without needing any programming- or design skills. 2. How much does it cost to use FlashNative? FlashNative is 100% free and no registration is required to use FlashNative. 3. Will any banners be displayed on FlashNative websites? FlashNative does not add any advertisements to your website. However, all sites do contain a mandatory but customizable linkback to FlashNative. 4. Am I free to do anything I want with FlashNative websites? Commercial use of FlashNative websites is not allowed. Besides that, you are free to do anything you want with your website - including burning it on CD-ROM or publishing it on the internet. 5. What are Simplified and Complete mode? Both versions are free and create the same kind of websites. The Simplified Mode offers only the very basic features of FlashNative and is therefore even more easy to use. Complete mode offers more flexibility and is recommended for most people. See the introduction page for details. 6. Can I open websites created in Complete mode in Simple mode? Yes, both versions are compatible. You can also switch between the both versions at anytime using the button at the bottom-right. Using FlashNative 7. How do I get started? Refer to the user manual in the menu help to get you started on using FlashNative. 8. How do I open sites created using FlashNative version 1? You can open websites created using FlashNative version 1 (branded as easyHomepageCreator) using the 'Import website from FlashNative v1' option in the menu project > tools. 9. Nothing happens when I click 'preview project'. What's wrong? Most likely you have a pop-up blocker (such as the Google toolbar) which blocks the preview window. Try holding the CTRL key while you click the button. If this doesn't help, make sure you disable any pop-up blockers before using FlashNative. 10. How do I add a counter or guestbook to my website? Please refer to the tutorial 'Adding a counter or guestbook' in the menu help -> tutorials in Complete Mode. 11. Help, I'm stuck! Where can I get more information? All functions of FlashNative are covered in the user manual. Please refer to the user manual in the menu help. 12. Can I add movies, mp3's and downloadable files? No, this is not possible. However, you can upload your files to a free service like FileDen and then create a linkpage with links to them. 13. Can I remove the credits page on my website? No, this is not possible. However, you can modify the text to appear on this page in your site options. 14. Can I password protect my website? No, and this is not allowed either. FlashNative is a tool for sharing knowledge and information on the internet - not for hiding it. 15. What are subpages (and why don't I see them in my menu)? Subpages are just like normal pages, except that they are not shown in the menu of your site: They are a part of the page above them. Add a link (via an item on a page with items) to access subpages. Refer to page 21 of the user manual for details. 16. Why do some visitors of my site get a Flash Player installation screen? Websites created using FlashNative require the latest Flash Plugin. Visitors who do not have this free plugin on their system are offered to install it directly. If the visitor prefers not to install the Flash player, (s)he will be forwarded to the textversion of your website. Webhosting 17. What is webhosting? In order to show your site to the public, it must be placed on the internet. This is called webhosting. A webhost is a company where you can store (upload) your website. 18. How do I get my website online? Please refer to the tutorial 'Save and publish wizard' in the menu help -> tutorials in Complete Mode. What is Cwahi free webhosting? Cwahi.net (a division of Crosswinds) is one of the many free webhosting companies on the Internet. Since FlashNative does not offer webhosting by itself, we provide step-by-step instructions about this company as extra service. 20. How can I get a domain (like myname.com) for my site? Please refer to the tutorial 'Getting a domain for your site' in the menu help -> tutorials in Complete Mode. Corporate 21. FlashNative is a free product. So, what's the catch? As they say, free products come with a price to pay. When using a free product like this, keep in mind that: - Technical support is not necessarily available or correct. - You are limited to our terms of service. Commercial use is not allowed. - Our terms of service may change at any moment. - FlashNative comes without any guarantees. There is no guarantee whatsoever that FlashNative will still be online tomorrow or that the website you'll build will even work (off course, we hope otherwise). 22. Is (a license for) the FlashNative source code available? No. We make no exceptions for this, so please don't contact us for this.
